Learning outcomes

The course will investigate the role of historical narratives in Romantic and Victorian culture and literature, with special reference to the work of Walter Scott and R.L. Stevenson. Their novels will provide a starting point for the exploration of the different ways of imagining and representing history in Britain in the 19th century.
