Curriculum

Raffaella Bertazzoli has completed her studies both in the field of Italianistic and in Foreign Literatures. She has worked on several themes and periods of Italian literature and  on Italian authors (Gabriele D'Annunzio, the Scapigliati, Verga) and on Comparative Literature (the theories of translation and thematic theory). Amongst her several publications, there is a book  on Grave-Yards Poems and  one on Descriptive Poetry in the eighteenth century. Having taken over the Veronese PRIN Unit, she has been able to direct her interests towards the rewritings of classical myth and of the Bible, bringing out volumes of critical essays, as "Il mito classico nella Letteratura italiana". "Miti oltre frontiera" and "La Bibbia nella Letteratura italiana. Antico Testamento".  Recent research interests are devoted to the odeporic imaginary and to the reception of Shakespeare's work. She was awarded the "D'Annunzio Prize" for the critical edition of the tragedy "La figlia di Iorio".
