My research project aims to investigate contact-induced lexical variation and change in the multilingual vocabulary relating to the medieval English manor by means of an onomasiological approach. The output of the project is a trilingual thesaurus collecting and classifying Anglo-French, Medieval Latin, and Middle English terms used as synonyms or co-hyponyms during the post-Conquest period, compiled in order to assess the impact of language contact on a domain representing medieval rural England.
