Learning outcomes

The lost genre: fiction from the Middle Ages to the Golden Age. Sentimental, chivalric, pastoral, Byzantine novels.

The course will be in Spanish and aims to provide advanced level skills and deepen the knowledge of Spanish literature with the direct experience of reading and analyzing some classics.
It will have a laboratory and seminar character, based on previous students' preparation, respecting and improving their attitudes.

Rey Hazas A., “Introducción a la novela del Siglo de Oro, I (Formas de narrativa idealista)”, Edad de Oro, I, 1982, pp. 65-105.

En el mes de noviembre en el curso colaborarán dos Visiting Profesor. El profesor Jorge García López de la Universidad de Girona (España) y la profesora Gabriela Martin dela UNAM de Ciudad de Méjico, dos universidades que tienen con la de Verona unos acuerdos de colaboración y de intercambio de alumnos y profesores.
Se pondrán a disposición materiales en la plataforma de e-learning. La profesora está disponible durante la recepción para aclaraciones sobre el contenido del curso. Se pide a los estudiantes que no asisten a clase que se pongan en contacto con la profesora para acordar el programa.

In addition, it will be possible to participate in the Seminar on Digital Edition and analysis of texts (Digital Humanities) by Prof. Antonio Rojas Castro of the University of Cologne on 29-30 / 11 and 6-7 / 12/2017 accredited as activity held by the Department of Lingue (2 CFU D).

Assessment methods and criteria

Oral exam at the end of the course.
During the course written reports depending on student availability.
Final oral relations and exams will be in Spanish and are intended to verify language ownership, analytical skills, and depth of knowledge acquired.
