Russian language and linguistics

The Russian language and linguistics group deals with the metalinguistic analysis of the Russian language both synchronically and diachronically, looking particularly at morphological, syntactical, lexical, textual and pragmatic aspects as well as different levels and registers of written and oral communication. The group’s research interests centre on the language of political discourse, especially the language of the media, Italian loan words in the Russian language (18th-20th centuries), the lexicon of cultural heritage in Russian compared to in Italian and contrastive analyses of Russian and Italian glottodidactics. These areas are examined from different perspectives, using lexicology and lexicography, cognitive linguistics, discourse analysis and historical-comparative approaches.
