La visione del Caucaso dei viaggiatori occidentali, da un lato, e dei rappresentanti delle culture locali e di quella russa, dall'altro, può differire in modo significativo. I diversi punti di vista sono un interessante aspetto di analisi per la comprensione delle complesse dinamiche culturali dell'area. L'argomento si presta a considerazioni sul post-coloniale.

Modern and Contemporary Russian Literature Cinzia De Lotto
Cinzia De Lotto is specialised in nineteenth century Russian literature, in particular the work of Gogol’, to which I devoted numerous contributions on: aspects of poetics and style; problems of textual analysis, also with respect to the publication of previously unpublished authgraophs; reflections of Gogol’’s legacy in an intercultural dimension. Other authors object of study in the nineteenth century are: A. Puškin (Karamzinian tradition in Pikovaja dama, dynamics of the subject in Mozart and Salieri); F. Dostoevskij (correspondence). Objects of study in the twentieth century: N. Berdjaev, S. Bulgakov; authors of the so-called Soviet derevenskaja proza sovietica (V. Rasputin, F. Abramov); V. Rozanov (compositive and stylistic strategies of fragmentarity); A. Blok (The twelve,in the tradition of twentieth century “poema extenso”); contemporary “mass” literature (the phenomenon Čchartišvili-Akunin); gulag literature. A particular line of research concerns the subjects of Russian iconography: genesis and development in relation to the artistic text, to popular tradition and to literary genres (especially legends, historical and hagiographic narrations).

Il ruolo di onomastica e calligrafia nei processi creativi specifici che portano alla gestazione delle opere letterarie di F.M. Dostoevskij. Più in generale, il rapporto fra creatività e segno grafico, da una parte, e invenzione onomastica è oggetto di studio, anche sulla scorta dell'esperienza di altri artisti, pensatori, scrittori.

Anna Giust is interested in various aspects of opera and musical life in Russia: texts, translation of librettos to and from the Russian language; reworking of literary subjects; foreign influence on the evolution of native forms; mobility of music artists from and to the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union.
