This international workshop open to everyone brings together scholars from a range of research backgrounds to explore the transformation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses in the age of print. The participants — experts in both the Latin and vernacular traditions of Ovidian reception in the Middle Ages and the early modern period — will converge their perspectives to construct an interdisciplinary framework for understanding how the Metamorphoses were translated, adapted, and reshaped through the medium of print. Special attention will be given to paratextual features, the relationship between text and image, and the centres of production and circulation that fostered the dissemination of these works. The workshop is part of the project based at the Universitat de Barcelona “The transformation of Ovid’s Metamorphoses in modern printing: text, image and a new readership at the end of the 15th century (MedOvid)”.
