The PhD project is about historical linguistics of Spanish, specifically, American Spanish, focusing on the Texan variety of the 18th century, a dialect that has not been properly studied before. The main objective is to identify, analyze and describe characteristics of Texan varieties during the period aforementioned using handwritten archival documentation of the region. Furthermore, to compare them to other varieties in Hispanoamerica.
