Doctorate research program
My PhD project is aimed at shedding light on the nature of prosodic representations. In particular, I am considering the prosodic marking of information structure in South Tyrol Italian and how it can vary according to some known sources of individual differences: empathy, gender, language dominance, exposure and entropy. Experimental data on the effects of these variables are being collected to test a hybrid, cognitive-based Exemplar Model of prosodic representation.

Curriculum

I obtained my Master's Degree at the University of Bologna, defending an experimental thesis on Implicit Prosody Hypothesis (Fodor, 2002).      
I am currently a student of the PhD programme in Linguistics of the Universities of Verona and Bolzano. Until May 2024, I will be conducting my research at Laboratoire Parole et Langage (CNRS - Université Aix-Marseille).
My research interests include: the acquisition of prosody in L1 and L2, theories of phonological representation, sociolinguistic adaptation phenomena in production and perception, functional data analysis, syntactic ambiguities.
