Ph.D. programme in Foreign Literatures, Languages and Linguistics - 36° ciclo (October 1, 2020 - September 30, 2023)
Doctorate research program
My PhD project starts from the archival research carried out at the Monacensia im Hildebrandhaus in Munich for my master thesis, where I had the opportunity to analyze in detail the literary and political relationship between two great personalities of the German literary field, Klaus Mann (1906 - 1949) and Stefan Zweig (1881 - 1942). More specifically, I consulted and translated into Italian for the first time 83 letters and other still unpublished documents of theirs. No monograph has been dedicated to these two authors yet, so the primary aim of my PhD project would be the publication of the whole resource in German into a digital platform (i.e. Stefan Zweig Digital and/or Mann Digital) as the first "digital scholarly edition" on the theme, thus exploiting the new DH technologies (XML/TEI, Oxygen, EVT).
