Curriculum

Beatrice Melodia Festa è ricercatrice con incarico post‑doc in Letterature Anglo‑Americane all’interno del Progetto di Eccellenza “Inclusive Humanities” del Dipartimento di Lingue e Letterature Straniere dell’Università degli Studi di Verona. Dopo aver conseguito il Dottorato di Ricerca in Lingue, Letterature e Culture Straniere Moderne presso l’Università di Verona, ha svolto attività di insegnamento in Letteratura Americana come professore a contratto presso le Università di Bari (2021‑2023), Parma (2021‑2024) e Verona (2023‑2024). I suoi principali interessi riguardano tecnologia e new media, intermedialità e adattamento cinematografico, l’opera di William Faulkner, la narrativa afroamericana contemporanea (Whitehead), la narrativa femminile tra Otto e Novecento (Alcott e Wharton) e la letteratura post‑9/11. La sua ricerca attuale include disability studies, narrazioni della malattia e pratiche di cura nella letteratura americana. Per il progetto “Dalla pagina al paziente: testi e contesti nordamericani nella Medicina Narrativa”, si occupa di individuare un corpus di testi letterari nordamericani da impiegare nella formazione di docenti e del personale medico‑sanitario. Ha pubblicato le monografie The Evolution of Virtual Identity in American Literature (Ombre Corte, 2022), William Faulkner sul grande schermo (La Bottega Editoriale, 2023) e The Flâneur and Post‑9/11 Literature: Texturing 9/11 through Urban Walking in Contemporary American Fiction (F. & Timme, 2025). È membro della redazione di Iperstoria – Journal of American and English Studies.
