John Humbley is an emeritus professor at the Université Paris 7 Diderot (Université de Paris).
He is a specialist in neology, terminology, lexicography and takes part in various international projects such as Néoveille (platform extracting and analysing neologisms in eleven languages) and Glad (Global Anglicism Database Network).  He published the volume “La néologie terminologique” (Lambert-Lucas) in 2018, earning him the Émile Benveniste prize from the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres (Institut de France).
