MM: PARTE I
------------------------
The module aims to provide an overview of the literature and the history of Spain in the twentieth century, also providing knowledge and tools for contextualization and analysis of literary texts.

MM: PARTE II
------------------------
This module focuses on two contemporary Spanish novels, which will be studied for their significance in the history of Spanish literature, and used as a textual basis on which students will test their ability to understand, contextualize and translate a literary work.

Syllabus

MM: PART I
------------------------
The course will focus on the main Spanish literary movements of the twentieth century, placing them in their historical and social context. Particular attention will be devoted to literary prose, especially the tales of two women writers of the post-Civil War (Carmen Martín Gaite and Ana María Matute).

The course will be held in Spanish and Italian.

Assessment methods and criteria

Assessment through oral examination that includes a part in Spanish; it is recommended to be in possession of a proficiency level at least equal to B1. For this module it is possible, alternatively, to take a written informal test (optional).
