Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

The course will focus on the phenomenon of “language crisis” or “Sprachkrise” from the end of the 19th century on. Thus it will investigate various literary-philosophical approaches to the question through the analysis and discussion of central texts mostly by austrian authors: Fritz Mauthner, Ludwig Wittgenstein, Hugo v. Hofmannsthal, Karl Kraus and Ingeborg Bachmann.

Assessment methods and criteria

The final exams will be oral and held in German
