Learning outcomes

This course introduces to the reception history of the ‘Old Norse matter’ into modern European literatures (above all into English and German literatures). The ananlysis will concern texts and genres of Old Icelandic medieval tradition, through some prominent modern readings of them, aiming at shedding light on their interferences in content and style novelties.
