Learning outcomes

The course offers an introduction to the work of Jean Améry (Hans Maier), one of the most representative writers of contemporary literature, who was born in Vienna and survived the holocaust. The course will focus in particular on Améry’s essays and on the works of contemporary Austrian writers (such as Th. Bernhard and I. Bachmann) he dealt with.
