Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

The course deals with English and German literature of the earliest centuries (700-1300) and with its contemporary audience. It will be explored the bicultural world of the Middle Ages, combining oral with scriptural, illiteracy with scholarship, vernacular poetry with Latin rhetoric. The field of the analysis will be a meaningful literary complex, the French roman de Tristan and its relatives in Medieval English and German narrative.
