Learning outcomes

To provide key issues, concepts and techniques of textual analysis based on Halliday’s model of Systemic Functional Grammar.

Syllabus

Introduction to systemic functional grammar:
- identification of the socio-semantic approach
- phrasal constituents
- ideational metafunction
- interpersonal metafunction
- textual metafunction
- grammatical metaphor
