Through the acquisition of a specific palaeographic- codicological lexicon and of a knowledge of the history of Latin writing, including scribal abbreviation,the course has the purpose to provide students the methods and instruments necessary for a reading and transcription of those literary medieval texts which were transmitted as manuscript books.
