The research group “Krisis. Literature, Criticism, Culture and Politics” aims to position itself at the intersection of different fields of knowledge and disciplines, with the goal of promoting, coordinating, and organizing research and training activities in the areas of literature, cultural studies, philosophy, history, and political and sociological theory. In particular, the group seeks to serve as a platform for fostering reflection—across diverse disciplinary perspectives—on the role that the humanities traditions can play in addressing political, social, and cultural issues, with special attention to the most pressing ones (authoritarianism, crisis of representation, democracy).
Among the group’s objectives are:
• organizing seminars, conferences, and study meetings aimed at encouraging multidisciplinary reflections and contributions on the aforementioned topics, as well as contributing to the training of young scholars in this field of research;
• fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, communication of activities carried out and results achieved, and their dissemination;
• promoting, within the specifically German studies disciplinary area, discussions that, starting from the aforementioned themes, focus on specific moments in German-language literature and culture.
