The Skenè research centre deals with drama and theatre studies, from the antiquity to the present day, with a comparative and interdisciplicary approach. A special focus is on the relation between classical and early modern English theatre. It deals with the transmigration of topics, narratives, theatergrams, genres and styles from the point of view of reception, performance, translation and cultural studies, among others. The group also explores the possibilities offered by the digital humanities for the study of drama texts.
The research group runs the open-acess Skenè. Journal of Theatre and Drama Studies (http://www.skenejournal.skeneproject.it/index.php/JTDS/issue/view/21) and the Skenè. Texts and Studies online series (http://textsandstudies.skeneproject.it/index.php/TS).
