Studia letteratura spagnola della prima età moderna, romanzo cavalleresco tra Spagna e Italia (ciclo di Amadís de Gaula, traduzioni, continuazioni, dibattito teorico sul “romanzo”). Collabora con il gruppo Clarisel dell’Università di Zaragoza e con la collana “Libros de Rocinante” di Alcalá de Henares: edizioni del Florisel de Niquea I-II (2015) e del Lepolemo. Caballero de la Cruz (2016).

Dirige il gruppo di ricerca Progetto Mambrino sul romanzo cavalleresco spagnolo in Italia assieme a Stefano Neri, con cui ha fondato la rivista  Historias Fingidas ( fascia A). Ha svolto anche ricerche sulla retorica barocca e sul romanzo del Novecento. Si occupa del libro spagnolo a Venezia nel Cinquecento e di narratologia e teoria del romanzo. Coltiva interesse per l'opera di Cervantes e dal 2005 è tra i collaboratori della Gran Enciclopedia Cervantina, Castalia.

Mambrino Project
MAMBRINO PROJECT http://www.mambrino.it/ deals with the continuations and translations of the Spanish chivalric novel in 16th century Italy. The corpus includes about fifty Italian prose novels. Publishes since 2013 the scientific journal "HISTORIAS FINGIDAS" classified by ANVUR in band A and annually organizes a seminar of the same title. http://historiasfingidas.dlls.univr.it/index.php/hf/index Since 2018 Mambrino Project has signed an agreement with the European project READ Transkribus for research on character recognition in ancient books https://transkribus.eu/Transkribus/.
