Research groups

The group intends to work on a wide corpus of texts which includes both the aforementioned period, the sixteenth century, and the age roughly limited at the seventeenth century. In the past as today, translations are very often rewritings of Spanish works, particularely relevant for what concerns additional changes and new transformations from the original text. Of a similar nature is the effort involved in their reworking for the Italian audience, in terms of concepts, style and language. The study and analysis of the dialogues written in the Iberian field of study and translated into Italian, as interactive and open access as possible, will enable to clarify both the connections between different people and cultures in Europe within the 16th and 17th centuries and the main topics discussed at that time such as ethics, science, politics, astrology, etc. This project offers a new, original and innovative approach in this field. This research is strongly related to an important Spanish research project: Dialogyca BDDH (Biblioteca Digital de Diálogo http://www.dialogycabddh.es), which has been offering using the latest technologies the corpus of all literary dialogues written in the different languages of the Iberian Peninsula in the early modern period, (since years). "BIdialogyca" group involves a strong and intense international cooperation with Dialogyca group, headed by Consolación Baranda Leturio and Ana Vián Herrero from the Complutense University of Madrid.
