The course aims at providing a set of theoretical and practical tools in order to identify and take full advantage of business opportunities in emerging markets. Starting from the analysis of the main differences between emerging and developed markets, adaptations in traditional competitive strategies required to successfully compete at the “bottom of the pyramid” will be discussed. Several case studies of companies competing in some emerging markets will be presented, as well.
A written test to assess accurate knowledge and a supplementary oral examination are required. The tests will be corrected on the same day or in the immediately following days. The results of the written tests as well as the calendar of the oral examinations will be published on the website and in the notice board. For attending students an ongoing evaluation will be organised.
