Learning outcomes

The laboratory aims to provide students with the basic knowledge of methodologies and technologies for the design and creation of websites. At the end of the laboratory the students: - will know the basic principles of usability, accessibility, internationalization, compatibility, privacy, and security of a website; - will be able to design and build a website following a correct methodology and an appropriate use of fundamental technologies (e.g., HTML5, CSS); - will be able to enable simple user interactions in a website (e.g., JavaScript); - will be able to use and manage a Content Management System (CMS) for the creation of websites.


1) developing static pages in HTML;
2) stylesheets for page layout (CSS);
3) design XML data for exchangeable information;
4) elements of dynamic pages in JQuery;
5) how to use a Content Management Systems (CMS): Wordpress case study.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam consists of developing a small website by applying
the technologies explained during the lecture. The exam is individual.
