The course aims to give an overview of contemporary italian language from an historical and linguistic perspective. Basic categories of linguistic will be considered in order to understand the descriptive part of the topic. The sociolinguistic theories will be explained to contextualize the transformations occurred in the current Italian language. The second part will provide the necessary tools for a text composition and comprehension. The didactic method includes appropriate exercises and activities during the lessons.
1. Elements of Italian grammar: use of verbal modes and tenses, connective tissues, figures of speech, punctuation.
2. How to write in Italian: the textual typologies; language and records; the writing process (list of points to do, drafting, revision).
3. Exercise of analysis and textual production: argumentative text, summary, examples of professional written texts (letter, brochure, report ...).
E-learning platform will be provided materials (slides, tutorials, bibliographical supplements ...) for attending or not-attending students.
