Cristina Cappelletti ha conseguito il titolo di dottore di ricerca in Letterature e Scienze della letteratura (XIX ciclo) all’Università degli Studi di Verona (SSD: L-fil-let/10) e in Scienze della Persona e della Formazione, indirizzo Storia e letteratura dell’età moderna e contemporanea (XXIX ciclo) all’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore di Milano (SSD: L-fil-let/14).

Si occupa di letteratura dei secoli XVIII e XIX secolo, in particolare teatro, romanzo ed epistolografia; ha curato alcuni carteggi di letterati: «Ozio e virtù in fatto di Belle lettere». Corrispondenza di Ippolito Pindemonte con Angelo Mazza e Smeraldo Benelli. 1778-1828 (2009) e Il Vate e il Bottegaio. Il sodalizio d’Annunzio - Castelbarco attraverso il carteggio (2018). 

Dal 2014 è socia del Centro di Studi Tassiani di cui è stata anche Segretaria e ora è Presidente. È membro del Consiglio Direttivo e Segretaria operativa del Centro di ricerca sugli Epistolari del Settecento, (Dipartimento di Culture e Civiltà, Università di Verona). È socia corrispondente del Centro di Studi muratoriani.

Ha partecipato a progetti di ricerca nazionali e internazionali; di recente al Progetto Arprego, Archivio del Teatro Pregoldoniano (finanziato dal Ministerio de Ciencia, Innovación y Universidades spagnolo, promosso dall'Universidade de Santiago de Compostela), per il quale sta curando l'edizione critica e commentata de L'Ariostista e il Tassista di Giulio Cesare Becelli.

Nel settembre 2019 ha conseguito l'Abilitazione Scientifica Nazionale alle funzioni di Professore universitario di II fascia (settore 10/F1, Letteratura italiana).

Tra i suoi recenti interessi di ricerca c’è la fortuna critica e letteraria di Torquato Tasso tra Sette e Ottocento.
