Il corso si propone un’analisi di testi e contesti della letteratura e della cultura inglese dal Seicento al Novecento con particolare riguardo al loro sostrato estetico-ideologico.
MODULO 2 (CFU 3: ore 18. S. Zinato). "Beyond the bounds of judgement": Dryden riscrive Shakespeare.
Il modulo intende offrire un percorso di lettura attraverso l’adattamento che John Dryden realizza dal Troilus and Cressida di Shakespeare per il teatro della Restaurazione, riportando il confronto tra i due testi a un confronto tra due estetiche.
