Curriculum

Anna Giust porta avanti un percorso di ricerca dedicato allo studio del repertorio operistico russo come veicolo interpretazione della storia della cultura di quel Paese nei suoi rapporti con l’evoluzione della cultura europea, e nel contempo si interessa delle relazioni musicali tra Europa e Russia, in particolare del fenomeno della ricezione dell’opera italiana e francese, e della mobilità degli artisti da e verso la Russia. È autrice di diversi articoli sul teatro musicale russo dal XVIII al XXI secolo, e di due monografie: Ivan Susanin di Catterino Cavos, Un’opera russa prima dell’Opera russa (EDT-De Sono Tesi, Torino 2011), e Cercando l’opera russa, La formazione di una coscienza nazionale nel teatro musicale del Settecento (Feltrinelli-Amici della Scala, Milano 2014).
Ha vinto l’edizione 2017 del Premio Rotary assegnato dall’Istituto Nazionale di Studi Verdiani, con un progetto di studio della ricezione russa dell’opera di Giuseppe Verdi La forza del destino, ora in corso di pubblicazione.

The research of Anna Giust is dedicated to the study of the Russian operatic repertoire as a vehicle for interpreting the history of the culture of the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union in its relations with European culture. At the same time, she is interested in musical relations between Europe and Russia, notably in reference to the reception of Italian and French opera, and of the mobility of artists towards Russia. She authored several articles on Russian opera from the 18th to the 21st century, as well as two monographs: "Ivan Susanin" di Catterino Cavos, Un'opera russa prima dell'Opera russa (EDT-De Sono Tesi, Turin 2011), and Cercando l'opera russa, La formazione di una coscienza nationale nel teatro musicale del Settecento (Feltrinelli-Amici della Scala, Milan 2014).
She won the 2017 edition of the 'Premio Rotary' award by the Istituto Nazionale di Studi Verdiani, with a study project on the Russian reception of Giuseppe Verdi's La forza del destino, which is currently being prepared for publication.
