Obiettivi formativi

The course aims at focusing on the main principles of pragmatics, with specific reference to speech acts, and the leading role that it plays in authentic communicative exchanges as well as in audiovisual language. Theoretical framework will be supported by single cases taken from written and oral passages. Extracts from audiovisual products, both original and in their dubbed version, will be analysed from a pragmatic point of view.

- English varieties
- Socio-cultural and situational context
- Cooperative principle
- Politeness
- Speech acts
- Audiovisual language
- Audiovisual translation
