Lesson timetable

Learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to analyse the contraposition of the terms culture/civilization in English literature starting from the end of the XVIII century, with Burke’s Reflections on the Revolution in France, considering Arnold’s perspective, till the climax reached by Cultural Studies.

Assessment methods and criteria

The exam will consist on an oral discussion on the texts.
