The aim of the course is to provide an introduction to modernist poetics in relation to colonial Otherness
The aim of the course is to investigate the transnational cultural complexity of Modernism through a postcolonial re-reading of a series of key literary texts. `British’ Modernism will be presented and re-assessed not as an isolated `national’ artistic expression, but a complex cultural field, whose depth and articulation are also determined by its relation with colonial otherness.
