Learning outcomes

In Latin America, the long poem has had and will continue to have many practitioners. The first Anglophone example is The Waste Land by T.S. Eliot while the first francophone example is Un coup de dés by Mallarmé. In the Spanish language the first long poem is Altazor by Vicente Huidobro. The course attempts to offer a knowledge of the most important poets of the Latin America’s XXth century through reading and commenting some of their long poems and through a deep reflection about these literary form.

Final oral examination. After the first module it is planned a written test. Extra points will be granted to those taken the final examination in Spanish.
